How often does the comic update?
Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire currently updates seven days a week.
What materials do you use to draw the strip?
I draw the strip with a simple .7mm #2 mechanical pencil. You can find them at nearly any convenience store. I then ink it with a simple Pilot extra fine v-ball pen. I strengthen lines and add depth and detail with Staedtler pigment liners, sizes 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7. The colored strips are colored with Prismacolor markers, and the backgrounds are colored pencil... which, I have found, look a lot like crayons when they are scanned.
Can I use artwork from your strip as an avatar?
Absolutely.
Would you mind if I linked you on my own website?
Absolutely! In fact, I encourage that sort of behavior!
So, if Luna's mother died while a Royal Knight of Callan was visiting, why didn't she receive full compensation?
This question used to pop up all the time, and it wasn't answered for approximately three years. Now, however, the explanation can be found right here.
What's up with Luna's teeth, and why hasn't she used her magic to fix them?
Luna Travoria was born with a unique little deformity called "tusk-mouth." It gives her tusks. For more on why she still has them despite her magical prowess, read this.
My favorite character hasn't made an appearance in a long time. When will s/he be back?
There are a lot of characters in this little webcomic, so I don't really plan on introducing too many new ones. Thus, chances are if your favorite character hasn't been around for a while, I'll get around to featuring him / her in a storyline pretty soon.
Whatever happened to Brok?
To be honest, I don't know. The character of Brok was created by a friend of mine, and I put him in the strip to say "hello" to him. Unfortunately, once I put Brok down onto paper, I found I didn't really like the idea of a raging berserker in the story. So I got rid of him by having him chase Stunt and Bumper off into the sunset, and I don't think he's ever going to make a return.
Where did you get the nickname "Mookie" from?
My best friend gave it to me in high school, because there were so many people named "Mike." It's just stuck since then.
Can you put a link to my site / webcomic on your Links page?
This is my least favorite question. I tend not to put up young webcomics or personal sites on the Links page because there are just so many of them. If I find something that has potential or I find worth mentioning, then I'll link to it in my Featured Webcomic section on the front page. To get a permanent link on the Links page, you need to really floor me. I'm very choosy about which sites I link to.
Would you draw me / my character for me? I'll pay you!
I used to do commissions, but I don't anymore. Since choosing to update the strip seven days a week and increasing the size to eight panels, I'm simply burned out. I don't have the energy to draw anything else but Dominic Deegan nowadays, even when I attend conventions. I'm sorry to those of you who were looking forward to commissioning me in person.
What conventions will you be attending?
I keep a list of the conventions I'll be attending on the front page, just below the News & Updates section. It'll usually tell you if I'll be a guest, a panelist, or just a regular attendee.
You haven't answered the e-mail I sent you. Why not?
I wish I had a good answer for this one. I am just a terrible e-mail correspondent. I'm naturally scatterbrained and easily distracted, so e-mails tend to sit in my inbox for a long time. My own mother has scolded me for this. Chances are I've read your e-mail and I have honestly appreciated it, but it may be a good six months before I finally remember to write back to you.
